Jan graduated from the physical therapy program at the Karolinska institute in Stockholm Sweden in 1986. Thereafter he moved to Holyoke Massachusetts where he worked for Holyoke hospital from 1988 to 1989. He has been practicing in New Mexico since 1989 and for Rio Rancho Physical Therapy since 1996. He enjoys working with orthopedic and work related injuries. He spends his spare time with his family and enjoys an active lifestyle including diving, skiing, mountain and road biking.
Taylor Evans, MSPT
Taylor graduated from The University of New Mexico with an undergraduate and a Masters Degree of Physical Therapy in 2006. Taylor’s interest in musculo-skeletal injuries began as a collegiate baseball pitcher and continues with his focus in outpatient orthopedics. He has treated a variety of clients from adolescent to geriatric with orthopedic to neurological deficits Based on Taylor’s background he strives to develop clinical relationships focused on learning and teamwork that a patient can continue to use once their attendance in physical therapy has concluded. . Taylor volunteers in the activities of his 3 children and enjoys his wife’s vibrant Albuquerque family.
Todd Verity MSPT
Todd graduated from Central Michigan University with an undergraduate degree in Corporate Health Fitness/Athletic Training. He received his Master’s degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Indianapolis in 1992. He spent 21 years gaining invaluable experience with two local area hospitals and then as a private practice co-owner. During those years he specialized in treatment of shoulder and knee conditions, developing a strong working relationship with a number of local orthopedic surgeons. A desire for life change led him to pursue travel therapy and he spent much of 2014-16 in Alaska prior to relocating to Albuquerque in January, 2017. Todd is also our clinical instructor for UNM PT Students. His Christian faith is the driving force in his life and he continues to pursue growth in this area. Outside of work he enjoys activities including: church involvement, travel, Alaska (salmon fishing), photography, exercise, new adventures, and spending time with those special to him.
Lynda Michalk PT
Lynda graduated with a BS degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Texas Medical Branch in 1986. During her work in Texas she was fortunate to direct a small rural PT clinic where she was able to follow patients from acute care to home health, nursing home and outpatient settings. Lynda and family moved to Albuquerque 1998 where she spent 12 years working in long term care / skilled nursing home settings. After 5 years staying home to care for her two children she joined the staff of Rio Rancho Physical Therapy in the fall of 2013 Lynda enjoys the challenging outpatient orthopedic setting and being able to deliver quality patient care. She also enjoys sports and playing volleyball for the past 30 years.
Amarissa Johnson, DPT
Amarissa was born and raised in Santa Fe, New Mexico. She graduated from Colorado State University with a bachelor’s degree in Health and Exercises science in 2014. She then went on the University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio Texas where she graduated with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2017. Amarissa then moved back to Santa Fe and worked in an outpatient clinic for 2 years. She then relocated to Rio Rancho with her husband in 2019. She enjoys working with all types of neurological and orthopedic related conditions through all age ranges. Outside of work Amarissa enjoys spending time with her family, hiking, playing tennis, working out and playing with her dog.
